2013... what a beautiful whirlwind of a year!

Oh my 2013, my feet have hardly touched the ground - you have been a beautiful blur! Here are just a few of my favourite moments...

I'd like to take this opportunity to send my warmest thanks to my couples for sharing their day with me. A huge thank you also to all the suppliers and hair and make-up artists that I've had the pleasure to work with, plus my ever supportive friends and family (I hope to see you more in 2014). And a special thank you to my incredibly patient hubby and not forgetting the kindly weather Gods who have been brilliant this year, dishing out sunshine a plenty and minimal downpours. Wishing you all a very Happy Healthy New Year - may it be a vintage one. I can't wait to create lots of beautiful memories for my 2014 couples - it's going to be  lovely!

Whirring through a year of images selecting my favourites for this post has been a bit of an emotional journey...I ended up with a gazillion or two and no idea where to start so here are the images that were in my head as I drove home at the end of the day....ahem I warn you that there are still quite a few so it may be an idea to pop the kettle on and find a hunk of Christmas cake/slab of choc and enjoy the show!

One of the best bits for me has to be learning so much about different cultures and their various customs, which never cease to fascinate me. I so loved learning about the Swedish custom of the Bride picking seven species of flowers, and laying them under her pillow, which would subsequently reveal her husband in her dreams - I'm a sucker for all these traditions! Here's a mighty mix of my favourite moments all jumbled up into a bit of whirl....in no particular order....here goes.... Happy viewing :)

David & Kate: LOVE shoot... Beauty & bluster on the beach

On a beautifully dramatic day Kate and David took to West Wittering Beach for their LOVE shoot. It was just as well the weather was overcast, as we were hoping to contrast the LOVE shoot images shot on UK sand with the beautiful sun kissed light of Portugal, where Kate & David's wedding will take place next Summer. David & Kate were true sports tolerating the frosty arctic wind and against the desolate sand dune backdrop, they looked quite the movie star couple, bounding over the dunes, looking as though they were straight off a set. I'm super excited to photograph their wedding on a beach in Portugal and hope that we will be able to contrast the dramatic beauty of a British beach in Winter, with the a little Portuguese magical golden light :) LOVE x

Matthias & Dagmar: LOVE shoot... A cosy coffee and mooch around Marylebone, followed by a crisp Autumn walk in Regents Park, London

Oh baby it's cold outside.... Brrrr! Autumn has certainly made it's chilly presence known and it's stunning beauty too. It is such a breathtaking time of year, blessed with a gorgeous quality of light for photography. So perfect for cosy LOVE shoots such as this one featuring cool cats Matthias and Dagmar. It was a real pleasure to mooch about a Marylebone mews or two, chit chatting along the way, discovering little gems of London streets hidden away from the main thoroughfare.  Fuelled by a coffee or three, served in eye catching blue cups from a favourite cafe of Matthias and Dagmar called the Workshop Coffee, we hot footed it around London town. I'm a real old romantic at heart so it's always a treat for me to hear how my couples met. Well it was love at first sight for Dagmar and Matthias whose gaze was held at a Photography Exhibition at The Royal Academy of Arts. With art and colour in mind we designed the shoot around coloured doors and Autumn foliage. Dagmar and I share mint as a favourite colour so we cooed over a fab painted door we had researched and then discovered! We then cavorted around Regents Park in the crisp air as the sun set taking in the Autumn colour. Such a beautiful day setting the scene for a cosy Autumn full of roaring fires, hot chocolate and snuggling up to a loved one. Huge thanks to Dagmar and Matthias for such a fun afternoon and Alice for assisting me. LOVE x
